Hi all, Newbie here. I just won a VV-50 "front crank" from ebay that looks complete except for the ID Plate. Does anybody know where to get one? repro is ok. This is my first acoustic phonograph and I was hasty bidding without doing my homework first and missed the absence of the ID Plate. It all started about two weeks ago when I went into a record store and they have plenty of Vinyl on display and bought some. The only problem is I don't even have a turntable, so I bid on a Thorens TD 160 MKII on ebay and won. While waiting for the package to arrive, I searched the internet for info and in one of the sites someone mentioned going back further into the era of the acoustic phographs which brings me to this point. This site had been a great source of info, I just wished I came here first before taking the plunge Thanks in advance for the help.

found one! the catch is ist's still attached to a VV-50 that is in worse condition than the one I have. So I bought it for spare parts. Now the waiting starts...in the meantime I'm scouring the web for pre 1930 78 rpm's. Any suggestions?

VV-50s are excellent projects. They are easy to ship and easy to disassemble and repair. And they look and work great. Finally, they are easy to move around.
If you continue buying acoustic phonographs they will often come with boxes of records. It's amazing how your collection will grow.

front crank. make sure The I.D. plate is not higher than the number 61400 after that the cranks were moved to the side and the plate would be misleading your model is probably 1921 or 1922 model its a shame that the original plate is gone
