What a gorgeous machine. That wonderfully preserved brass horn is a show stopper. Thanks for showing us a brilliant machine. I love those early ones with a designation of 6 instead of VI.

Ahhh - Colocrank stole my comments!
Honestly I am not a fan of the Victor I-VI series. And usually I don't like the look of the Victor VI's but this combo of beautifully preserved cabinet and brass horn - it's truly a winner in my book.
I feel your pain re: the value of this machine vs. your stock portfolio. Many of us probably have more value in our phonograph collections than equity in our homes.
Great addition the PhonoFocus series.

I've had several people tell me they don't like the looks of the Victor VI... I think you guys are nuts! The VI is sooooo sexy! And this brass horn one is right up there with the wood horn ones!
Steve - your link to the larger photos is revealing too much! I'm seeing some other treasures there too! I am so going to your house this spring when I pick up my 8-9!!!! I knew I could smell a big pile of machines when I was staying with my cousin!!! ;D

RE: the Vic VI's - you are gonna have to chalk this one up to personal taste. It looks too refined - I like the 1888-1906 look of the cabinets - crude, utilitarian. After about 1906/7 more attention was paid to the cabinet and its look. That's when I start losing interest.
This Vic VI is certainly an exception. It is a beautiful example and one I would proudly own and display.

What a gorgeous Victor VI. The brass horn is what makes this machine for me. If I had a choice between wood and brass I'd take the Victor brass horn for the Victor VI. I hope you don't mind but while I was looking at your Victor VI, I checked out your other machines also. The door was opened so I walked in. You've put together a outstanding collection and very well displayed. Thanks for the peek. Best Regards, Larry

Thanks Larry, I didn't realize everyone could see all the pics. My collection is the result of about 20 years of looking. They are kinda just scattered here and there in our house. My wife is very patient though....
I just recently learned how to post pics so didn't really understand all the ins and outs, but it's all good. Glad I removed the ones of me in that hula skirt though!!

Our newest member, Gramophone, wanted to share his Vic VI example with us (what a beauty!): Could you please ask 'Gramophone' to share with us a detailed view of the soundbox. I suppose this is $4000 alone ... Can I also have an image of the backside? Thank you in advance.

Hi fellow collectors!!.I just thought since there was a nice later example of a Vic vi with brass horn,I would show a early Vic 6 with # 10 reproducer.I have never seen a Vic brass horn painted with decal. However mine does have a Victor horn decal on it.If I could figure out how to post pics,I would show the #10 in it's case. Thanks Scott for your pic posting help.

That' outstanding Gram... and a cabinetto match! I too want to see the #10 reproducer. To post photos: Go to: www.imageshack.us(not sure if you need to register for free or not) Click choose file: select your image from your computer Hit the host it button In about 10 sec. you'll get a page with a list of different kinds of URL's - Copy the one for hot link Forums Then start a post on this board -paste it Done. It will be viewable on the final post. Now, this link you copy from Imageshack already has the commands to view the image in it but if you had just a location type url you would need to highlight it and click the little photo snapshot icon at the top of your post - but this is not needed with the hot link forum urls - it's in there already.

Hi Steve, if you look around Photobucket you will see a option to make your pictures private if you like (that way you can keep your hula skirt pictures). Than people can only see what you want them to see. I did this with my pictures so you guys wouldn't get jealous of me in my speedo.
Best Regards, Larry
