A nice looking set. Original condition, I assume?
The Reproducer storage inside the case is handy. Was that an add-on or did they ship them that way?
The speed control location is in an odd place. Did they have it there on other machines too?

Wow! I love it when a machine and cabinet has aged together so nicely!

Very nice combination Phonophan. And if I remember correctly, besides the long drive, the price was right. I have a similar setup but prior to finding the matching cabinet I found the machine just too large to display. It is so deep that it doesn't fit on a normal cabinet or table. It is deceptively large. Thanks for sharing it.

It is deceptively large. Yes, the price was right... and thankfully gas is not too bad right now either, altho seems to be slipping up and up. And another big yes, they are deceptively large... especially for having a relatively small horn inside. Thank you for sharing your machine as well! Did you manage to unlock the cabinet Dean? No, Shane... not yet. I may keep my eye open on eBay for something cheap and hope it works. A nice looking set. Original condition, I assume? The Reproducer storage inside the case is handy. I think a lot of DD phonographs have that wooden reproducer holder behind the grill or near the horn. I'm not sure if all do tho, or if they had just been removed. But yes, for sure that was for shipping purposes. ...and yes, being a belt-driven phonograph, this would be the only DD player with the speed control on the side like that.

Hey Phonophan -
I just had a thought, I could send you my key to open your cabinet if that would help. It's certainly not an Edison key but it works. If that works, send me a PM with your address. When you got it open just send it back.
Your call......

The Frow book confirms 13,012 sold, through March 1 of 1915, although I presume a few more could have shipped after that date.
The Model A/B 60 is the only other belt-driven DD I’m aware of.
You have a very nice matching cabinet. A great original setup. Good find.
