A beautiful Edison Disc Phonograph - and definitely rare. You can't miss this one in a room! Thanks for posting it!

These things really are massive! I've only seen two, one at Union and one at Kurt Knuaks. The gold looks great on this one too.

Dan, It was a privilege to be at your home for this little Lady's coming out party. You photos are fine, but I feel the need to let everyone know just how breathtaking she is in person. If any of you phono folks out there are ever traveling through Portland, you must stop over at Dan's. You truly will see some outstanding and unusual pieces. His functional furniture machines are to die for, and his phonograph advertising collection is amazing. A stop at Stan Stanford's house is also a must. Stan's collection is beautifully displayed; Each of the major talking machine companies are displayed in their own rooms. Stan has some very important pieces, and his phonograph collectibles are delectable. There are surprises around every corner. And, if you haven't yet had your fill of phono fun, I beseech you to take the short drive down to Albany Oregon and walk through Jerry Blais forest of phonographs. It's mind blowing! He has everything. It's imposable to take it all in in one visit. Jerry also has an extensive vintage bicycle collection, as well as variety of toys and other collectibles. It truly is a gift to have so many collectors in such close proximity. Their knowledge, advice, and support are priceless. Anyway, back to you Dan. She sure is a beauty, you should be very proud. Thanks, Jay

Dan,
That is an awesome machine. The mahogany grain jumps out and that grill design just makes it an art piece all of it's own. I also like the heavily designed key escution and drawer handle. Great buy on a hard to find machine in remarkable condition. You better get a rider on your homeowner's insurance to cover that one machine!
Envious here, but happy you have it.

Spectacular machine. Looks like it just rolled off the factory floor. And who says Mr. Edison's cabinets don't match up to Victor? At least in this case that is not true.

That's a real beauty Dan! What did you give up...an arm or a leg?
I have to agree with PhonoFilms assessment. Great guys, great collections!
Hopefully I'll get to see it in person in June or July. Congratulations on a great purchase.

I bet that would be one bugger of a grill to replace!

Jay Not to divert this thread from Dan's beautiful B-375, but I must amplify Jay's assessment of the "Oregonians." A few years ago, Tim Fabrizio and I flew to Portland, shooting items for our final books. Those photo safaris can be fun, but they can also be a drag in certain respects. Not so for that trip! We visited several collectors, shot some fabulous items, ate some fabulous food, and had a great time the whole trip. Jerry and Deedee took us to a wonderful Hungarian restaurant, where I still remember what I ordered: "Papa's Favorite." Food of the Gods. But Stan and Susan really deserve Purple Hearts for putting us up (and putting up with us) for our entire visit! They were the perfect hosts, and I never knew vegetarian food could taste so good. And of course, the collections that surrounded us were first-class. When I recall that trip, it's with distinct fondness. Wonderful people, all. George P.

Dan, Thanks for sharing your incredible machine with everyone. I saw your wants list. How many VTLA boxes will it take to trade for this baby? I think all the boxes are full of Caruso records and if you'll give me a few minutes they will be autographed and with Caruso's drawings on the off sides. Fairly Honest Gerald!

How about a full set of mint Zonophone Caruso records, all the Pathe cylinders in mint condition, throw in the Pathe center start disc records just for the heck of it, and the set of boxes full of autographed victor records with drawings! But, the Victors must include all the early 5000 series Carusos or there is no deal! ;D Dan
