I have come across a victrola Alvara A.K.A VV 4-90 I am helping A friend restore it I have the spring barrels out and the springs also because they need repacking because they were pretty badly caked, but they are in mint condition so are all the gears governor cabinet even the orthophonic reproducer Real good resonating, The cabinet is a bit faded but other than that the machine is close to mint condition. I will post pictures here pretty soon, This machine is very rare and was soley sold in canada they also offered an electric motor back then for 15 dollars extra The machines sold new with the spring motor for 190 dollars This machine was only introduced in 1926 and discontinued in 1928 only very few are known to exist. This ones a gold mine

Interesting machine. I look forward to seeing your pictures. I've only seen the small picture of this machine in the VDB.

Pictures are gonna be here soon The serial number is C8228. It was built in 1927 forHJM I think its Go eckler piano company Saskatchewan Saskatoon. One letter is scratched out It is extremely extremely rare the production numbers are unknown from surviving models maybe only 30000 were built. It is up for sale. It needs a good home. I call it the baby Credenza, My friend wants to part with it I don't. but there is no room. Its open for offers.

That is a clean Orthophonic machine with nice wood coloration and graining.
No Google hits worth mentioning for the retailer H. J. M. Gloeckler. The missing letter is an "L".
There does not seem to much information on this victrola either.
