He should have polished the bedplate, not paint it. Otherwise, it looks good. Harvey Kravitz

One Spring Motor

I have a 3spring motor for a grafonola just like in the video. Unfortunately one of the springs seem to have been installed backwards causing the large main transmission gear to loose a ew teeth "beyond repair" it also cracked one of the smaller gears that were directly attatched to the main gear. Are there replacement parts available and how expensive is it to replace. I was also thinking of going to a machine shop to have them make a replacement part. The main gear is heavily riveted to the spring barrel cover. One other thing. in which direction do the springs get mounted or wound into the canisters. When I wound the springs the middle canister made a popping sound resulting inthe damage to the main gear. Otherwise the motor is clean and regreased and ready for assembly. Any help would be appreciated.
