Now that this is set up it would be pretty easy to run. Other than a little expense promoting it in the two trade newsletters it would not cost anything to get the word out through internet posts and emails.
What do you guys and girls think?
What cold we do to make it better if we do more?
Regards
Moo

I thought the show was great for a first try. I would have liked to seen more vendors but I am sure popularity and interest will increase.

I think the concept is brilliant and agree that more vendors and shoppers would be desireable - but that comes with time and persistance at establishing the show "as a fine place to shop/sell". I think we should continue to support this effort.
Ups: Lots of views 2. some interesting goods to be had (thanks Charlie for some more real rarities!) 3. seller transaction costs much less expensive than Ebay 4. world wide audience
Downs: Bad economy (I wouldn't sell anything if I had a job!, but I guess that is a good side too, as it brings product out) 2. posting pictures for me was a challenge - not sure what "I dont know" when my posts to the Shack had the size printed on them and and my images were so small compared to other more attractive images. It would be nice if that was more streamlined (or I was smarter!)
But my congratulations on the execution of this interesting Concept - I will support it again.

Most of the stuff that sold was smalls. Most of the machines, if any did not sell. I think it is a combination of the economy and, honestly, some people asking show prices when in fact most people probably wanted a good deal on a machine. That may need to be worked out and revisited for the next show, but I thought it was a great idea and had fun doing it. Teh response was good too I thought.
Moo: Are you leaving the vitual show open for now or are you closing it?

I'm going to leave it open... it might generate some sales in the future for our vendors.
ripduf1, I think your photos were that way because you were using a different link. Actually the "Upload an Image" option is suppose to drop the link right in there and never go to imageshack but for some boards it has that extra step... maybe the kinks will get worked out soon.

I think you should leave it open as a "open sale" for those who want to keep their listings open until they sell. This way, inventory can be updated when and if the item sells. Prices can be changed when need be too. I liked the sale. I actually bought a few things I found to be reasonable priced. Would like to see more vendors and more items of all kinds, not just machines. More parts would be good too. When items sell, i think the seller should take the item off right away rather than putting SOLD on the listing, it just takes up room and more scrolling to items that are available. But my suggestion is leaving the post open for anyone who wants to keep selling their phonograph stuff, it may be beneficial for those looking for parts and to the sellers trying to sell off their inventory too. Overall, i visited and liked the experience.

G-day Moo Great show, fantastic idea, I would have liked to of purchased all of Charlie's machines ;D and your HMV but freight would be a killer. I think we will have to do something similar here in Oz, I will have to see if I can convince Shane to put one on the australiangramophone.proboard.
Thanks Mate Marcel

It was interesting and fun to watch. I came back to buy a repro but it had sold. I found the user interface is not to friendly for shopping. As postings were updated (edited) there was no indication that a posting was changed other than the fine print "last edited" This required the shopper to inspect each posting over and over again. (good for the seller, a bit of a pain for the buyer). I believe that leaving the sale open will result in traffic falling off quickly and few will return without an easy indication that anything has changed state. Not sure if going to a thread based method as the "trader" parts of the various phonograph forums would be any better than that offers now. This was quite an innovative idea and refreshing to see. One suggestion I'd make is to run a sale, fixed duration (don't leave it open) 1 or 2 weekends before each regional show. That would give focus as folks will be gearing up into "spend mode" and offer a potential sync up point for delivering the goods. Keep it up!

I had a great time! I didn't sell anything, but setting up my booth was a real educational experience, myself being computer illiterate and all. I'm not sure if anyone else experienced no one making any offers. To me that is half the fun. I don't think I have ever paid or received asking price at any of the other shows I've been to. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the next show. Thanks Moo, Jay

Moo, I think the show should go on. Once a month should be good. i hope more sellers will abandon ebay and sell at your show. Personally, I hope ebay goes out of business. BTW, thanks for the B-day E-card. Phonofreak56

I liked the show, but did find scrolling through all the different postings for changes was a bit daunting. Is there anyway things could be posted separately with indications of changes and then open each booth separately? I was at a friends home on Saturday with a fairly slow DSL connection. The page took many minutes to load. It would be nice to just see blurbs about each sale with a way to open them up if interested. Just an idea. I don't even know if the board can do such a thing.

A lot of good input guys. I think we are on to a pretty good event and with the word spreading we should have a knock out show next time... which by the way will be Sept 12 & 13 and that is about a 4 weeks ahead of the Wayne NJ show for those who want to use that as a delivery source. So, for those of you who had good intentions to have a booth but 2 months was not long enough .... get started today - you only got 5 and half!
