Hello, I am in the process of restoring my late grandfathers 1904 Victor Victrolla Consolette. It was passed down to my mother when my pawpaw passed and it has been broken for the past 40 years. From what I can tell the only thing wrong with it is that the mainspring is missing and one of the governor weights is broken. I have looked every where for a new mainspring and am not quite sure what to do about the governor weight, can anyone help me please? It would be greatly appreciated.

There are several dealers for phonograph and Victrola parts. They should be able to supply you with the correct parts for your machine and also repair it for you if necessary. Here are a few links: www.antiquephono.com/ www.wyattsmusical.comwww.victroladoctor.com/The Consolette was made from 1925 to 1929. If yours is called Consolette it was probably made in 1925, because afterwards it was renamed to VV 4-3. I have a VV 4-3 from 1927 and like that is has great sound for such a small machine. Here is more info: www.victor-victrola.com/4-3.htmGood luck Andreas
