Columbia 15092D (Matrix W142507) A tune written by Uncle Dave Macon, electrically recorded by Vernon Dalhart in New York City on August 4, 1926. (Recorded by microphone off of my 10-30X.) www.box.net/shared/pj3mzxjxu5An interesting spoken word intro followed by a folk song about Ford's Model T. Hope you enjoy it. Jim C.

Great tune, Jim! Being mostly a "machine guy" I'm not exposed to a lot of good music. Songs like this make me want to begin looking for more records.

Thanks for the compliments, guys!
Honestly, I'm sitting here laughing as I read this because this is not really good music. It is a novelty piece and is hillbilly (early country) music.
I was surprised how good it sounded with a direct recording by a microphone off of the 8-30. I placed the mic about 4 feet in front of the Victrola.
Vernon Dalhart recorded quite a bit. By the time he recorded this, he was a free agent (no longer under exclusive contract to any label) because he was so popular.
