I've asked this question before. Why doesn't CAPS offer an option for on-line registration and payment? I live in PA but would like to receive and read The Sound Box. Like many, I'm just too lazy to cut a check and mail an application by snail mail. I think you would double your membership if you offered this option.

I completely agree. You would think it would be much easier for the treasurer to accept PayPal payments instead of dealing with checks and the whole process could be automated.
Of course there are always the few that refuse to use email, or send money electronically etc. But I would bet the majority would take advantage of an online system.

I completely agree. You would think it would be much easier for the treasurer to accept PayPal payments instead of dealing with checks and the whole process could be automated. As treasurer for the Oregon Territory Antique Phonograph Society (OTAPS a much smaller group than CAPS) it's hard to take PayPal unless you happen to have a commercial account. They don't really have a free way to take PayPal for non-profits. They do have some stuff for non-profits, but they aren't free and you have to be an actual registered non-profit which also costs money. I have taken PayPal payments from a couple of our members using my personal account, but if I take too many they force me to a paid status. Dan

I wouldnt worry about a free account - charge the users the extra 2-3%. That extra would cone out to about the cost of a stamp and envelope to send a check anyway.
Can't you just setup a new account specifically for OTAPS, even if it is under your name? As long as the account is separate from your personal account it should be fine.
