After numerous failed attempts to recone my Pathe Actuelle speaker I came across a website which featured a reconed Pathe Actuelle on their home page. They do modern installs and speaker work but they also recone Pathe Actuelles (what are the odds). We exchanged a few E-mails and I have sent them my Pathe speaker frame and inside/outside small metal attachments. Hopefully my machine will play as new again since I had to make silkscreen/lacquer repairs to the original. I'll post the results.

Is this the speaker guy you found? www.angelfire.com/pa/conespeaker/Buford Chidester re-coned a Pathe radio speaker for me, and did an excellent job. The paper and the techniques used are similar to that found in the Actuelle cones. And my apologies to the members here for dropping the ball on a related earlier post. My computer started acting up not long after my post on this topic Dec 23rd, and it took me a long time to get back to where I'd been when it gave out on me.

Nope. This site is "thespeakershop.com" He has my frame for about a week now. Anxious to get it back and see what sort of work these people do. The Actuelle pictured on their home website looks good. Cheers

I tried to upload several photos here but was met with a host of security warnings. Sent photos to several of the restoration sites who were interested in finding someone to provide this service. Email me at squeeker7@comcast.net and I'll send you several photos.........

Is your machine that has the type with the louvers on top and the pointed end of the cone has the the needle or is yours the type that has the extended hollow tube that goes from the cone to the turntable and has the door to control the volume in other words is the cone horizontal or vertical?

The cone is verticle with the long tube between it and the table. Actually there are 3 doors, one of the left end and two-folding doors in front which expose the player. There is one more door in front on the left which has shelving.
