This is the method I use. I fill the sink with room temp water. I add mild soap and a little bathroom mildew cleaner. I wash them with a soft rag holding them under water then I rinse in running tab water of the same temp. (Be sure to watch for toilet flushers! ) make sure your cylinders are the temp of the water. If they have been in extreme temp during storage let them slowly come to regular house temperature. I then place them on a towel to drain and dry. you might have to finish drying the inside with a paper towel. Anyone else have any pointers?

Mild soap such as what? Liquid ivory or something like that? I have Dawn.

Yes... a standard dish washing soap will do fine. It is so diluted with water it won't harm your cylinder. Now your butter fingers are the most dangerous thing in this process!

i ended up saving 80 of the 110 that came with the cabinet. I didn't break any myself but the guy I bought it from said he turned the cabinet over once so I think that is where the cracks came from.
These are really good titles. Comic songs mostly. Too bad one of the cracked ones was "When father layed the Carpet on the Stairs."

Very Cool Moo! What brand of bathroom cleaner did you use? How do they sound?

just some non abrasive mildew remover. I don't put but about 2 teasthingys in a full sink basin of water. About half were completely mold free and the other slightly at the top or bottom and they sound nice.
I have a tendency to get all into my 4 min. I then when I play some 2's I realize they really are good. Of course it has to be a good song or sketch... so many of the 2's are bells and Xylophones or religious. Whoever bought these originally must have been a fun person to be around. A lot of vaudeville, coon songs, comic stuff.
