Do you need a early or late motor. I have a late motor with the correct matching turntable.

You should look for a "L" door XVI project machine and use the motor from it. I love the early big Victrolas and am not suggesting parting out a good example but a parts machine is a good source. Jerry

How do I tell an early from late model V5. I have a 5 that is origial and one that has a motor from another victrola. The one with the original motor is marked Vic V s/n 47202 A. The one that needs the motoris marked Vic V s/n 19125.

The motor and turntable I have is the later one and should be the same as the one you have in your Victor V, s/n 47202A with the pressed steel yielding turntable. I don't think the Victor V motor you already have will fit your empty Victor V case s/n 19125. But if it does than the motor I have should work. If you need a picture or other info just PM me or let me have you contact info. Best Regards, Larry

Unless you're including a Victor the Fifth (Vic D), is there any difference between Vic V motors? (except possibly the very very late examples) Thanks, Jerry

I'm going by memory here so if I get to far off base someone correct me. I can think of at least 3 different type motors for the Victor V. The early ones with a cast iron turntable used on the late plain case D and early V.
Also the later motor with the pressed steel yielding turntable, as found in V's, late VI's and early L door XVI's.
And the very late V's with the Victrola type motor and Victrola hardware.
I don't know if any of these motors are interchangeable using the same bolt and crank holes but my guess is they are not. The motor with the yielding turntable uses a very large spindle hole unlike the regular cast iron turntable.
The motor for the fancy case D would be very different using a bevel drive gear and looking very similar to a Victor MS motor. Hope the info has been helpful.
Best Regards, Larry
