My main interests have been pre-electric talking machines so this post will show my ignorance on later items but here goes. A local antique shop called to get my opinion about a phono item. It's a RCA unit that was used to play 78's through a radio. It looks like a little table about the height of a piano bench. When the lid is opened, a 12" turntable is revealed with an electric pick-up that I suspect is a second generation type. Please forgive me but it looks flared like a cobra. It has wiring to connect to a radio and an AC plug to power the unit. What was I looking at and does anyone have any interest? Thanks, Jerry Blais

This is an RCA record player attachment that was made to connect to the phonograph input of a radio. RCA sets in the 1931-32 days just about all had terminal boards for an external player attachment like this one. I've forgotten the model numbert, but they're interesting. I've tried to buy one on a couple of occasions, but could not, for some reasons. I still wouldn't mind having one, though.

Hi, I'm new here but found this topic interesting. I have purchased one of these attachments, but I don't have anything to play it through, so it hasn't been tested. I was thinking of changing over one of my cabinet machines to an electric, however it is difficult to find an induction motor.
