I'm still looking for a Columbia AZ. If you have one for sale please contact me. Thanks - John P jpisano@cox.net

John,
I have several "extra" AZs in the collection. Which style are you looking for or do you care? Are you looking for a mint example? One to restore or for parts?

Hi Scott,
I'm looking for an early AZ preferable in good condition. If it needs to be restored that is ok too. I'm not too concerned with the case, I mainly need the mechanism for a coin-op. The earlier the serial number the better. I'd like to hear what you have. Thanks - John

Are we talking a Rosenfield here? I do have an extra AZ bedplate if that is all you needed.
Let me review my machines tonight and take a few pics.

Hi Scott, Yes, you got it - it's for a Rosenfield Illustrated Song Machine. The odd thing is that there actually is a difference in the gearing between the older and newer AZ's. I need an older one because the small gear in the attached picture needs to have 22 teeth. On the newer AZ's it is 14 teeth. The Illustrated Song Machine uses the 22 tooth gear to drive the viewer mechanism. Who would have ever known!! I've been able to narrow it down that somewhere between serial # 295211 and 316974 they switched the gearing. I'm looking forward to seeing your pics. Best, John

Hey John,
I haven't forgotten about you - just haven't had a chance to get to where the AZs are stored. I will find them this week and get back to you!

Thanks Scott - I appreciate you checking. It's funny how when you need something you can't find it. It seems like AZ's were numerous a few years back, and now that I need one they are hard to find. To make matters worse I actually need two! John

Hi John
I finally got the storage area and it turns out the motor is wrong I think. It appears to be a motor from an AT! The extra 2 AZ's are also ATs...I don't know what I was thinking.
I compared the one extra AZ to my Rosenfield and the motors are different. It doesn't look as if I can be of help after all.
Have you tried the regular sources like George Vollema, Dwayne Wyatt, etc?
Scott

Scott - Thanks for checking. I'm hoping something turns up at the Wayne show. I needed three, but finally picked one up this past week on Ebay. It needs a little work, but it has the right gearing so I'm glad to have it. If you come across any please keep me in mind. - John
